About IYT Test
A free practice app for the theory of IYT sailing certificates, in English and Russian, in any browser and in Telegram.
IYT Test covers the IYT levels from VHF Radio Operator and International Crew to Yachtmaster Ocean, the Racing Rules of Sailing, and a charter check-in course. Every question is a situation you meet on the water, drawn where it can be: the mark ahead, the lights at night, the other boat’s bearing, the engine panel. Four options, and a one-line note naming the rule.
Each topic of each level has a theory article that explains the rules its questions ask about, with drawings. In the app you practise by topic, your mistakes come back until you get them right, and a timed mock exam spreads its questions over every topic.
Written for study. The questions and the articles are our own work, close to the syllabus. They are not IYT exam content, and neither IYT nor World Sailing has reviewed them. Facts follow COLREGs, IALA buoyage and standard seamanship; where practice differs by region, the article says so. The exam size, time and pass mark in the app are its own defaults.
